Overview

My job search was scattered across a spreadsheet, emails, and memory, so I built Career Tracker, a web app with a weighted "Fit Circle" that scores every role against what actually matters to me, and I'm using it to track my search right now.

The challenge

Job search data is scattered by nature. An application sits in one place, a follow-up email in another, and a gut feeling about a role that's hard to justify later when comparing offers side by side.

What I did

  1. 1

    Centralized the search

Built a dashboard tracking every role, company, contact, and interaction in one place instead of a spreadsheet.

  2. 2

    Built weighted scoring

Designed the "Fit Circle," a multi-factor comparison across salary, location, growth, work-life balance, industry, and more. Weighted by what I actually prioritize, not a flat average.

  3. 3

    Surfaced my own patterns

Built "My Patterns" to pull evidence from my own tagged data. It shows which roles I rated highest and what they had in common, instead of guessing at what I'm looking for.

Impact

200

Companies tracked through my active job search.
